Reclaim Life
We are a not-for-profit organisation offering five free sessions of life coaching and access to local therapists, all using the Human Givens approach to promoting emotional wellbeing.

What are the Human Givens?
We all have basic physical and emotional needs, such as the need for attention, love, security, connection and control. To help us meet our needs we all have valuable resources including memory, imagination, self-awareness and a range of thinking styles to use in the changing situations of everyday life. It is because these needs and resources are built into our biology that, together, they are known as the ‘human givens’. When our emotional needs are not met, or our resources are used incorrectly, we can suffer considerable distress. And so can those around us.

Human Givens life coaches and therapists will focus on helping you identify unmet emotional needs and empowering you to meet those needs by activating your own natural resources in new ways. To do this they use a variety of proven techniques aimed at changing emotional responses and problem solving.

Why it works
Human Givens practitioners will not waste time just endlessly listening to you or attempting to dredge up real or imagined miserable memories from the past. Instead they offer practical help that deals with mental and emotional distress in the here and now, enabling you to move on in your life as quickly as possible.

You can

  • Reduce anxiety
  • Break the cycle of depression
  • Treat psychological trauma
  • Manage anger
  • Stop addictive behaviour
  • Relieve medical conditions
  • Harmonise relationships
